28.02.24 • SEW EURODRIVE is expanding its range of stainless steel servomotors to include the B5 flange. This gives mechanical engineers even more options for hygienic solutions and therefore delivers added flexibility for designing machinery. Visitors to this year's Anuga FoodTec will be able to see for themselves what our broad portfolio of stainless steel drive solutions for use in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries looks like.
Stainless steel servomotor with B5 flange
The B5 flange on the stainless steel servomotor makes it easier to fit the servomotor to our various stainless steel gear units modular automation system. This results in a wide variety of new potential combinations for a diverse range of applications. Thanks to the use of high-quality stainless steels, the helical-bevel gear unit (KES..), helical gear unit (RES..), and SPIROPLAN® right-angle gear unit (WES..) series are ideal for permanently damp environments and for meeting the requirements of the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries, where hygiene is critical and cleaning is intensive. Just like the stainless steel servomotors, their smooth surfaces are easy to clean, offer excellent resistance to acids, and are also resistant to alkalis. Indentations in the housing have been largely avoided to minimize the number of places where liquids and dirt can be deposited and accumulate. The entirely stainless steel design thus effectively prevents any form of corrosion.
The CM2H.. stainless steel servomotors have previously been available in combination with the planetary gear unit from the PSH.. series and flange option B14. Adding the option of a B5 flange has turned the motor into a hygienic all-rounder. Those motors meet the strict guidelines of the European Hygienic Engineering Design Group (EHEDG) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
