Lean Sm@rt Factory – our design concept of the future
Industry 4.0 is an evolution in production and logistics processes. Based on the value creation principles of "one-piece flow" and "small factory unit", SEW-EURODRIVE has already begun to implement the vision of Industry 4.0 in its own Graben-Neudorf plant and has developed concepts for logistics, assembly and production tasks.
Perfect symbiosis of people and technology – both in assembly and production
Perfectly implemented lean principles and methods based on Industry 4.0 create the basis for networked, modular and efficient production in batch sizes of just one unit if need be. The key to success? The symbiosis of "people and technology" along the entire value creation chain – from configuration and production to assembly and delivery.
- Modular networked, loose chain of process modules
- Changeable, scalable operating resources
- Excellently designed process modules
- Data acquisition within the process
- Data mining – recognizing trends
- Near real-time data processing
- Employee guidance using pick by light (paperless picking)
- Order information within the process step
- Augmented reality
- Experience, explore, and test the convergence of the real and virtual worlds
- Making products and processes tangible
- Making processes simulatable for everybody using data goggles
- Lean implementation at its best
- Multi-functional, flexible assignment of employees
- Collaborating assistance systems
- Digital data acquisition
- Evaluation and analysis of acquired data
- Prediction of events
- Gamification in order management (using game-design elements)
- Decentralized guidance through the SFU leader (leader of the smart factory unit)
- Retrieving performance results in real time
- Material supply using mobile vehicles
- Efficient control of the flow of goods using CPS (cyber-physical systems)
- Self-regulating, autonomous decision processes
- Distributed hardware and software resources
- Data processing in the cloud
- Private and public clouds
- Digital twin
- Integrated intelligence
- Virtual image of real things
